The “there is no one present to do anything” concept is a concept like any other. Once people start clinging to that “religion”, they are only perpetuating more concepts. Then they will get into the “suffering and doubt are all part of the oneness” and “nothing can be done” or whatever spiel they come up with. They are the losers because they are still running after some authority figure and hoping for something to happen in the future. What freedom is there in continuing to run from teacher to teacher hoping for an “energetic transmission” or other non-sense? On the other hand, it is quite possible and practical to look into who you are and resolve the basic misunderstanding. This does not imply or accentuate the imagined sense of self. In fact, the reverse is the case. The idea that “there is no one” is certainly a useful concept at some stage. But just asserting that over and over as a concept will not resolve seeking, suffering and doubts. Usually the understanding being touted along these lines is mostly conceptual and intellectual.

Ask yourself, "What's wrong with right now if I don't think about it?"
~ "Sailor" Bob Adamson

Go to the source. Find out from where the "I" comes.
~ Nisargadatta Maharaj

John Wheeler
In 2003, John met "Sailor" Bob Adamson, who pointed out our nature of non-conceptual awareness and the absence of the limited self we imagine ourselves to be. With this heart-to-heart sharing, the spiritual search naturally and effortlessly ended. John enjoys sharing the pointers with those sincerely interested in self-knowledge and the ending of seeking, suffering and doubt.
